In this report
Rockstar posted the Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer on 15 October 2026. The game is still coming on 19 November, on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S. Put simply, the marketing has moved from “look at this” to “it is next month.”

The trailer is not the story on its own. The story is that a launch trailer showed up and the date did not move with it. After two delays and a year of people treating every Rockstar upload as a secret postponement, the useful fact is the boring one. 19 November is still 19 November. The film is the studio acting like it believes that.
I like this genre more than I like the countdown. Open-world free roam is half of what I actually play, and GTA 6 is the tentpole sitting on the other end of that month. I have not sat down with this particular trailer the way I sat with the earlier footage. The film already on the channel, I took a look at the trailer and the screenshots, is that older look. I am not going to describe shots I have not watched and call it a breakdown.
What they actually put on the page
Rockstar’s launch-trailer page is short, which is a mercy. They dated it 15 October 2026. They say it plays best on PS5. And they name the music: the trailer debuts Flower in a Hurricane, from the original-score composers Justice, with Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. That is the new proper noun. Everything else on the main VI page is the pitch you have already read. Jason and Lucia, an easy score gone wrong, the state of Leonida, modern-day Vice City, coming 19 November.
I am not going to invent a scene list to make the piece feel like I paused it forty times. If a reupload starts counting showers and helicopter shots, that is someone else’s notebook. The source I am willing to stand on is Rockstar’s page, and the page is mostly a date, a platform line, and a song credit. That is enough. A launch trailer that exists is the news. A launch trailer I have annotated from a mute autoplay is not.

The earlier beats are still the earlier beats. The Extended Look was 27 August, on Netflix first and YouTube later, and Rockstar did not call that one a trailer. Trailer 3, as a numbered thing people kept predicting, never got a date. This film is labelled a launch trailer. I am not going to rename the August one so the sequence looks tidy.
What it does not change
A trailer is not a patch note, and this one did not smuggle in the arguments people keep trying to settle with it.
Multiplayer at launch is still not a promise. I have already written whether GTA 6 has multiplayer on day one, and a cinematic does not retire that piece. PC is still later. The price and the editions are the ones Rockstar already posted, and they live on the GTA 6 page rather than in a song credit. Pre-loading for digital pre-orders was already set for 12 November in the June note, so people can play on the 19th. That is an old fact. The trailer did not invent it.

The other side of a launch trailer, a month out, is that it is an advert. It will look enormous. It will not tell you whether the open world is good to be in when nobody is pointing a camera at it. That is the only question I actually care about with these games, and a trailer is the worst tool Rockstar has for answering it. They have answered the calendar. They have not answered the Tuesday night.
A month is not a long time until it is
19 November is close enough that the trailer feels late and early at the same time. Late, because people have been staring at Leonida since the first trailer. Early, because there is still a month of people treating every leak like a review. I am not interested in the leak economy. If Rockstar did not post it, it is not the game yet.
What I will do between now and the 19th is the same thing the channel has been doing all year. Play the open-world games that already exist, and keep the countdown on the GTA 6 page where a countdown belongs. The launch trailer is real, the song has a name, and the date survived it. That is the piece. If the 19th slips again, I will say that too, and I will not have needed a trailer to notice.
FAQ
When did the GTA 6 launch trailer come out?
15 October 2026. Rockstar put it on the Grand Theft Auto VI site and called it the launch trailer. It is not the Extended Look from August, and it is not a numbered Trailer 3 that they forgot to label.
Is GTA 6 still releasing on 19 November 2026?
Yes. Rockstar's own site still says 19 November 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. The trailer did not move the date. PC is still not a launch-day promise.
What song is in the GTA 6 launch trailer?
Rockstar says the trailer debuts Flower in a Hurricane, from the original-score composers Justice, with Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. That is the credit they printed. I am not going to pretend I have the track on a playlist yet.
Does the GTA 6 launch trailer mean multiplayer is in at launch?
No. A launch trailer is a marketing film, and Rockstar has not used it to announce an online mode for day one. The single-player date is the one they keep repeating. If you are buying this to run jobs with your mates on the 19th, that argument is still the one I have already had.
Where do you watch the GTA 6 launch trailer?
On Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto VI site, the launch trailer page they posted on 15 October. Watch that one. A reupload with a theory voiceover is not the source, and I am not treating one as the other.
