When Is the GTA 6 Extended Look on Netflix?

When is the GTA 6 Extended Look? Thursday 27 August 2026, on Netflix at 3pm ET (8pm BST), then on Rockstar’s YouTube and the official GTA 6 site six hours later. That is the whole calendar answer. Everything else on the internet is people trying to turn a titled video into Trailer 3, a gameplay dump, or a delay rumour. It is none of those until Rockstar presses play.

The honest caveat first. I have not seen it yet. Nobody has, officially, as I write this two days out. This page is how to watch it and what is actually confirmed. After the 27th I will refresh it with what actually showed up. Until then I am not reviewing a video that does not exist.

How to watch it, without the time-zone headache

Rockstar’s own newswire, quoted in full by Game Informer:

Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix Thursday, August 27 at 3 p.m. ET and will also launch on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI site at 9 p.m. ET on August 27.

That is two windows, not one.

If you are in the UK and you do not want to pay Netflix to watch a Rockstar video six hours early, go to bed and watch it on YouTube in the morning. That is the whole premium. Six hours. I am not setting an alarm for a marketing video. I might anyway. That is between me and the kettle.

Mashable has the same times off Rockstar’s own post. Watch Rockstar’s channel and the official site. Anything that lands on a leak account first is rumour until those two post it.

This is not Trailer 3

I already wrote the honest version of when Trailer 3 might land. That page was a window, late July to early August, based on Rockstar’s old cadence and Take-Two’s earnings call. The numbered trailer never came. This did.

Rockstar did not call it Trailer 3. Netflix did not call it a trailer. The title is Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look. Mashable flagged that wording on purpose, and they are right. Trailer 1 and Trailer 2 were vibes and tone. An “extended look” could be a longer cinematic, a gameplay slice, a guided tour of Leonida, or all three mashed together. Game Informer said length and content are unclear, and that it could share mechanics or even proper gameplay with on-screen UI. Could. Not will.

So the useful sentence is: this is the summer marketing beat, on a weird platform, with a name that is doing a lot of work. If Trailer 3 still exists as a separate thing, Rockstar has not dated it. Stop putting this on a Trailer 3 bingo card.

Netflix-first is the other odd bit. Mashable could not remember another big game trailer premiering on a paid streaming service. Fair. You do not need a subscription. You need patience.

What is still locked, and what people are inventing

Locked. GTA 6 launches 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Take-Two said so again on the August earnings call. IGN has Strauss Zelnick framing the Extended Look as a way to grow “consumers’ passion and anticipation” into that date, not as a wobble. The Rockstar launch post is still the date.

Not at launch. Multiplayer is not a day-one promise. Rockstar has called it a single-player experience. GTA Online, or whatever they name the sequel, is a later conversation. If you are buying this to run heists with your mates on the 19th, I have already had that argument with you.

PC is later. Will GTA 6 come to PC? Yes, eventually. Not on 19 November.

Leaks. There is a lot of leaked footage floating around this month. I am not treating any of it as the game. Watch the official look. If Rockstar shows something the leak accounts already posted, we can talk about it then. Until the 27th, leaks are noise.

What it will show. More of Jason and Lucia. More of modern Vice City and the wider state of Leonida. Hopefully the first proper look at how the thing plays, because two trailers of driving-and-vibes is getting thin this close to launch. That last sentence is hope, not a source.

What to do with the wait if you are already sick of it

The Extended Look is a Thursday-night-if-you-are-in-Britain event, then a very long twelve weeks until launch. If the countdown is eating your brain, I already ranked what to play before GTA 6 and the broader best open-world games in 2026. If you are weighing the purchase, standard vs Ultimate is the money page, and everything we know about the single-player is the facts pile.

Live countdown, editions, and the rest of the cluster sit on the GTA 6 HQ. That is the page I will keep current when the Extended Look actually exists as a video instead of a calendar entry.

The short version if you scrolled straight here: 27 August. Netflix at 8pm BST, YouTube at 2am BST. Free if you wait. Not Trailer 3. Launch still 19 November. I will watch it, then tell you whether it was a look or just a longer advert.

FAQ

When is the GTA 6 Extended Look?

Thursday 27 August 2026. It premieres on Netflix at 3pm ET, which is 8pm BST. The same footage then lands on Rockstar's YouTube channel and the official Grand Theft Auto VI site at 9pm ET, 2am BST on Friday 28 August.

Do I need Netflix to watch the GTA 6 Extended Look?

Only if you want it at 3pm ET / 8pm BST. Rockstar is also posting it on YouTube and the GTA 6 site six hours later. Skip the subscription if you can wait until the evening in the US, or until the small hours in the UK.

Is the GTA 6 Extended Look Trailer 3?

No. Rockstar and Netflix have not called it a trailer. It is titled Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look. Trailer 3 is still unannounced. Treat this as its own marketing beat, not the numbered trailer people have been calendar-watching since June.

Will the GTA 6 Extended Look show gameplay?

Nobody official has said. Game Informer noted that length and content are unclear, and that it could be more than a trailer, maybe even proper gameplay with UI. Mashable pointed out that neither Rockstar nor Netflix used the word trailer. Expect more of Jason, Lucia and Leonida. Do not expect a patch-notes dump.

Is GTA 6 still coming out on 19 November 2026?

Yes. Take-Two reaffirmed the 19 November 2026 date for PS5 and Xbox Series X and S in its August earnings, and framed the Extended Look as part of the run-up, not a delay signal. PC is still later. Online is still not a launch-day promise.

Where can I watch the GTA 6 Extended Look after Netflix?

Official Rockstar Games YouTube, and the Grand Theft Auto VI site, from 9pm ET on 27 August. That is the free version. Watch those two. Anything funnelled through a leak account first is rumour until Rockstar posts it.
