When Is the GTA 6 Extended Look on Netflix?

I spent an evening on Trailer 2 and the stills, pausing on Jason and Lucia like another frame might leak a calendar, and it did not. Thursday 27 August 2026 is when the GTA 6 Extended Look lands, Netflix at 3pm ET, which is 8pm BST, and then Rockstar’s YouTube and the official GTA 6 site six hours later. Everything else on the internet is people trying to turn a titled video into Trailer 3, a gameplay dump, or a delay rumour. It is none of those until Rockstar presses play, which is why I have not seen it yet, and nobody has, officially, as I write this two days out.

This page is how to watch it and what is actually confirmed, and after the 27th I will refresh it with what actually showed up, because until then I am not reviewing a video that does not exist. The camera version of that Trailer 2 evening is on this page, I took a look at the new trailer and screenshots. What I came away with was a modern Vice City I wanted to drive through, and a summer that was supposed to start talking, which it did, and it just did not say Trailer 3.

How to watch it, without the time-zone headache

Rockstar’s own newswire, quoted in full by Game Informer, is the only clock I am willing to trust two days out:

Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix Thursday, August 27 at 3 p.m. ET and will also launch on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI site at 9 p.m. ET on August 27.

That quote is two windows rather than one, and the table is the same fact with the kettle in mind.

If you are in the UK and you do not want to pay Netflix to watch a Rockstar video six hours early, go to bed and watch it on YouTube in the morning, because that is the whole premium and it is six hours. I am not setting an alarm for a marketing video, though I might anyway, and that argument is between me and the kettle. Mashable has the same times off Rockstar’s own post, so watch Rockstar’s channel and the official site, and treat anything that lands on a leak account first as rumour until those two post it.

An Extended Look, which is a different job from Trailer 3

I already wrote the honest version of when Trailer 3 might land, and that page was a window, late July to early August, based on Rockstar’s old cadence and Take-Two’s earnings call. The numbered trailer never came, and this did, which is the awkward bit, because Rockstar did not call it Trailer 3 and Netflix did not call it a trailer. The title is Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, Mashable flagged that wording on purpose, and they are right, since Trailer 1 and Trailer 2 were vibes and tone.

An extended look could be a longer cinematic, a gameplay slice, a guided tour of Leonida, or all three mashed together, and Game Informer said length and content are unclear, and that it could share mechanics or even proper gameplay with on-screen UI. Could, not will, which is the useful distinction, because this is the summer marketing beat, on a weird platform, with a name that is doing a lot of work. If Trailer 3 still exists as a separate thing, Rockstar has not dated it, so stop putting this on a Trailer 3 bingo card.

Netflix-first is the other odd bit, because Mashable could not remember another big game trailer premiering on a paid streaming service, which is fair, and you do not need a subscription so much as you need patience.

What the room decided before a video existed

The internet has already decided, in that particular way the internet decides, that this is Trailer 3 with extra steps, or a delay signal wearing a Netflix logo, or finally the gameplay dump the calendar has been owed since June. All three takes have a crowd, and none of them have a video yet, which is why I read Take-Two and also remember what the same rooms did to every empty week this summer, and how quickly a recast arrives once the footage looks expensive. People follow people, so I try to follow the session, and this page is not me agreeing with a bingo card.

I am sitting two days out, refusing to review a look that does not exist, and refusing to wait until it is fashionable to say the numbered trailer never showed. If the Extended Look is a redemption for the missing Trailer 3, good, and if it is six hours of Netflix exclusivity for a marketing video, that is a fair shrug too. My take is smaller than either headline, because for one Thursday I will watch Jason and Lucia again, and then tell you whether it was a look or just a longer advert.

What is still locked, and what people are inventing

What is locked is that GTA 6 launches 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S, because Take-Two said so again on the August earnings call. IGN has Strauss Zelnick framing the Extended Look as a way to grow “consumers’ passion and anticipation” into that date, not as a wobble, and the Rockstar launch post is still the date.

What is not at launch is multiplayer, because multiplayer is not a day-one promise, Rockstar has called it a single-player experience, and GTA Online, or whatever they name the sequel, is a later conversation. If you are buying this to run heists with your mates on the 19th, I have already had that argument with you. PC is later, and the answer to will GTA 6 come to PC is yes, eventually, and not on 19 November.

There is a lot of leaked footage floating around this month, and I am not treating any of it as the game, so watch the official look, and if Rockstar shows something the leak accounts already posted, we can talk about it then. Until the 27th, leaks are noise, and what it will show is more of Jason and Lucia, more of modern Vice City and the wider state of Leonida. Hopefully it is the first proper look at how the thing plays, because two trailers of driving-and-vibes is getting thin this close to launch, and that last sentence is hope, not a source.

What to do with the wait if you are already sick of it

The Extended Look is a Thursday-night-if-you-are-in-Britain event, and then a very long twelve weeks until launch, so if the countdown is eating your brain I already ranked what to play before GTA 6 and the broader best open-world games in 2026.
